The standard aims to help producers establish a list of biosecurity measures to ensure farm biosafety, the implementation of which will minimise risks and, as a result:
- prevent the entry of undesirable pathogens into the farm;
- prevent the spread of pathogens within and outside the farm;
- control diseases in the herd through measures aimed at reducing the pathogenic load;
- minimise the incidence and spread of pathogens that pose a threat to public health;
- raise the level of awareness and training of farm staff.
