Agroprime holding, Ltd launched the fattening farm with the capacity of 24,000 heads of pigs per year on the 11st of August. The farm is located near Zhovtneve village of Bolgrad district. It will provide closed cycle of pig production.
There are 6 housing and fattening units for pigs on the farm. Maternal heard on the farm is formed by means of active breeding plant of Agroprime holding, Ltd. The nucleous of the maternal he rd is formed of Large White and Landrace breeds of French and English breeding. Slaughter pigs of such genetics reach live weight of 100 kg in 170 days with 1 kilo of weight gain per 3.2-3.4 units of feed.
Feed ration of fatteners is 96% based on grain, silage and pulse crops, grown by Agroprime holding, Ltd. The level of other components of feed ration does not exceed 4%. Such approach can guarantee the production of organic pork which conforms to international standards of food safety.
The pig farm has its own feed mill with the capacity of 40 thousand tons of feed mix per day. It also has its own elevator which provides year’s supply of grain crops for fodder production.
After attaining its planned capacity the pig farm will produce 3 thousand tons of high quality pork per year. It will also provide 50 employment opportunities.
The farm corresponds to all health and safety regulations. The farm is far enough from residential areas.
Modern technologies of manure utilization conform to all sanitary standards and provide manure procession with its further application as a fertilizer. During the period the farm was being built (2008-2011) all the engineering services were made, artesian well was also built etc. There were also laid 22 thousand square meters of road and1.9 km of average pressure gas pipe line.
The heads of agricultural administrations and enterprises and the head of Odesa region state administration were the quests of the openings ceremony.
