According to the press service of Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Slauta, appropriate measures were approved at today's meeting of the State Emergency antiepizootic Commission.

"The committee members were briefed on the epizootic situation on the African swine fever and measures taken to prevent entry of the disease into the territory of Ukraine, as well a report on the prevention of unauthorized entry of products and raw materials of animal origin into the territory of Ukraine, including outside the checkpoints across the state border, " – informs the press-service.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the State Committee of Veterinary Medicine of Ukraine on August 3 this year warned about the threat of African swine fever occurance in the country.

State Committee of Veterinary Medicine of Ukraine reported that the Russian Federation faces a complicated epizootic situation, and as a result African swine fever threatens eastern regions of Ukraine. If Ukraine is faced to this problem, it will not be able to export agricultural products, particularly grain, and within the 20-kilometer zone from the place of detection of the disease all the pigs will have to be killed.
