Competition between poultry and pork producers is rising inUkraine. If poultry meat up 10% it can cause bigger pork purchasing. According to the prediction of the Association of Ukrainian agrarian business club (UKAB) demand for pork will probably up 15.6%.

Experts noted that stock raising is developing actively in large agrarian holdings. Under the conditions of active competition, only vertically integrated holdings with closed-cycle, which can provide low prime cost for meat, will be able to support demand on proper level and to provide customer with affordable pork. “It means that industry will continue consolidation and those processors with high prime cost will have to leave the market”, - the head of UKAB Elizaveta Sviatkivska thinks.

According to Association’s dataUkraineproduced nearly 600 thousand tons of carcass weight pork in 2010, 26% of it were produced by 10 biggest agroholdings. Comparing to 2009 meat production inUkraineincreased.
