Before New Year, the demand on sausages, pork and meat delicacies went up twice. It caused the prices increase for different kinds of sausages and pork, which are traditioanal attributes of the festive table.
“For the last week prices for demanded products doubled, but after Christmas holidays they will down accordingly to the decrease of the demand”, specialists of the UKAB association comment.
There is the increase of purchasers’ activity only during the last 3 – 4 days of the year, and this practice lasts for two years at a run. It’s due to the reduction of purchasing ability compared to 2007 and 2008.
Such short period of retail prices increase does not cause substantial price changes at the market of live animals, as producers did orders in advance, expecting seasonal growth of demand.
