EBRD granted a 25 mln credit to the Ukrainian meat processor “Hlobyno”.
According to the comments of the founder of the company Oleksandr Kuzminskyi the money will be used for modernization and increasing standards of environment protection. “The credit will be used for the modernization of the enterprises and also for building biogas production plant”, said the founder.
The representatives of EBRD say that within this project and also other similar investments in Russia, Ukraine and Turkey Food and Agricultural Organization will make some researches based on the industry of these countries. The current situation of the branch will be analyzed within the research. The head of the agro business department of EBRD noted that it is the first project in meat processing sector of Ukraine. He also said that it would help Ukraine to strengthen the potential of the country not only to be a supplier for the domestic market but also to become an exporter.
The credit is granted within the implementation of the large scale program of investment in big players of Ukrainian agro business sector.
Beginning from 1991 EBRD promised to grant €6 mlrd within more than 400 projects in Central and Eastern Europe countries and also in CIS countries.
