The European Union hopes that with the help of the UN it will be possible to find an early solution to ensure the export of Ukrainian grain.

According to Ukrinform, the EU High Representative Josep Borrel wrote this in a blog on the website of the European External Action Service, reports Ukrinform.

"As for the fictitious or real impact of our sanctions on third countries, in particular African countries, which are significantly dependent on Russian and Ukrainian grain and fertilizers. It is very clear where responsibility for the food crisis lies. Our sanctions are not directed against Russian grain or fertilizer exports. So far it is Russian aggression and its blockade in the Black Sea that does not allow Ukraine to export grain", Borrel said.

He expressed hope that negotiations under the auspices of the UN secretary general would quickly resolve the problem.

"I have informed my African colleagues that we are ready to help them overcome any complications they may face because of our sanctions. And at the same time urged them not to allow themselves to be deceived by lies and misinformation from the Russian authorities on this topic," the EU High Representative added.
