There are still State Standards printed on packages but the authority has decided that it is not necessary to certify food products. It implies that it is a producer who is responsible for the quality, e.g. cheese or sausage.
Fish, butter, margarine, confectionary products and juices will not be inspected either. Overall, there are 17 kinds of food production. There is an obligatory certification for baby food and alcoholic beverages only. State Standards abolition is a commitment of Ukraine before  the World Trade Organization.
Home producers are concerned about the fact that there will be a few time bigger output of poor-quality products. Importers are about  filing up Ukrainian market with a second-rate commodities which can’t be sold  in developed countries.
Volodymyr Dobroskok, chairman of board of “Business constructive entities rights protection union” comments: ” Experts predict there will be up to 70 per cent of poor-quantity production on the market. It is possible to consume but it is low-grade which means it doesn’t meet global, European standards, or those of a civilized country.”
