Imports of meat to Ukraine decreased, but its exports increased. Igor Kaletnik, the Chairman of the State Customs Service, announced about this at a press conference, RBC-Ukraine reports.
I. Kaletnik noted that recently a decrease in imports of meat to Ukraine has taken place which led to a growth in exports of meat. In the first quarter of 2010 4 thousand tons of meat were exported, and in the second quarter of 2010 -- about 26 thousand tons.
‘Therefore we believe that the main producers of meat products on the territory of Ukraine through the actions of the Customs Service of Ukraine now have a free market in order to develop their production and lower the cost of their products,’ he said.
