Veterinary control and complex preventive measures will be enhanced in Rivne region because of the threat of African swine fever, which may come from Customs Union countries.
The region was stated unsafe because of possible contamination with African swine fever, which can be brought from neighboring Belarus. The country has opened borders with Russia after joining the Customs Union. There have been many outbreaks of African swine fever lately.
"Veterinaries must enhance control for import of products and follow all stages of production and sales of meat in the region”, said the first deputy of the head of Regional State Administration Anatoliy Yukhymenko. "The foresters also have to help the veterinary service with hunting wild animals as it will help to conduct qualified monitoring”, emphasized the official.
The fulfillment of the instructions will be controlled every month.
