Ministry of Agricultural Policy will stimulate farmers to produce more pork

Ministry of Agricultural Policy will encourage farmers to produce more pork. It intends to restore powerful farm complexes. There is a big competition among the import of meat from abroad and domestic production now. The latter became larger because of the devaluation of the hryvnia in terms of previous years and the reduction of import. Later the sales volume of domestic production increased a bit.
‘If the pre-crisis pig numbers in Ukraine decreased by 20 % each year, now it has grown to 16%’, said Vladimir Lapa, director of the club of agrarian business:"The market is saturated gradually, not by competition with imports, but by increasing of domestic meat supply. So, I think that over the next six months, the prospects that meat prices will rise, are not possible. Tough in our country it is impossible to forecast anything for a long time’.
