According to State Statistics Committee, in 2010 Ukraine produced 2922.5 thousand tons of all kinds of meat (live weight), it means 6.7% above 2009. In all kinds of households total meat production (sales of livestock and poultry for slaughter in live weight) up in 21 regions compared to 2009. Mostly production increased in the households of Cherkassy (27.7%), Nikolaiev (15%) and Kirovograd (12.2%) regions.

The most reduction of meat production was in Kyiv region (3.9%). The same level of livestock and poultry for slaughter sales for the last year remained in Rivne region. In agrarian enterprises (except small ones) general volume of livestock and poultry growing exceeded by 10% for 2009 level (1651.6 thousand tons), pig growing – by 19% (near 409.6 thousand tons), poultry growing – by 10.6% (near 1065.7 thousand tons). However, livestock growing down by 8.9% (173.6 thousand tons).

Increased volumes of livestock and poultry growing are gained in 18 regions, most of all in Cherkassy (33,9%), Ivano-Frankivsk (31,6%), Kirovograd (30,1%), Ternopil (25,5%) regions.

Average daily gains during growing, feeding and fattening of livestock down by 1.9% (460g), of pigs – up by 1.3% (381g). Correlation (ratio) of livestock and poultry growing to slaughter sales is 108.2% (in 2009 – 107.8%). In private households the growth of livestock and poultry slaughter saling volumes is noticed in 22 regions (from 0,1% to 20,6%).
