As of the first of July there are 8,054.5 pigs in Ukraine. One part of which (3,469.8 pigs) is kept in agricultural enterprises, and the other part (44,584.7 pigs) is kept on the farms. The total pig heard size increased by 2.9% at agricultural enterprises and by 2.9% on the farms versus the same period last year.
The total pig heard size decreased by 0.9% in the agricultural enterprises, and increased by 1.7% on the farms in comparison with the previous month. There were produced 39.6 thousand tons of live weight pigs in June 2011 in Ukraine. It is 2.8% more (1 thousand ton) than in May 2011. And it is 8.5% (2.9 thousand tons) less than in June 2010.
There were slaughtered 36.7 thousand tons of live weight pigs in June 2011; it is 8.6% (2.9 thousand tons) more than in the previous month and 20.3% (6.2 thousand tons) more than in June 2010.
