Ukrainians are known as experts in pig production all over the world. That is why the main task of this branch is not only to become independent from import but also to increase export potential. Mykola Prysyazhnyuk the minister of Agriculture and food announced about it during his visit to Dnipropetrovsk region.
“The program of pig production development will be adopted soon”, said the minister. We must find a new scheme and new technologies of pork production. It will increase the production of pork, help to become independent from import, and also increase employment and incomes of rural population”.
As the minister says state – private partnership is at the basis of this project. It means that the state is obliged to create all the necessary conditions for rural population to help them to buy all the necessary equipment, piglets, feeds etc. on lease.
According to the statistics of Ministry of Agriculture 50% of pork is produced in private sector. The family that grows 20 pigs in its barn is able to earn from UAH 50 000 to UAH113000.
The discussion of the project will take part in the nearest future in which the leading scientists will participate. After that the government will consider the project.
